ZDNET biased review of PALM's Tungsten C?

criss on 2003/05/21:
„ZDNET recent reviewed Palm's Tungsten C and made no reference to Palm's study concluding that the Tungsten C excelled in performance tests when compared to the IPAQ (probably the best Pocket PC available). This miss may not show evidence of bias, but the word choice of the reviewer reveals an impulse to conclude that Microsoft's Pocket PCs are better than Palm-based PDAs. I think this shows a likely unconscious bias.“

Some slightly related:
„Keeping our theme from yesterday of ceaseless promotion for Palm PDAs, we draw attention to a STUDY- (in PDF) that matched Palm's Tungsten against HP's IPAQ. The conclusion: Palm's best beats the best from the windows' world of PDAs. Palm commissioned the test, but is there any doubt that regardless of who pays for testing, the Palm OS is more efficient and runs applications better than Pocket PC?“http://www.cyberspaces.org/webzine/archives/ 000209.html - Cached

„There is also a fairly extensive review of Palm tools here - unfortunately the author has no direct experience with PocketPCs so it is a wee bit incomplete but it is medically oriented. There is also a good review from ZDnet here .“http://pocketprof.org/platformchoice.htm - Cached
„The New York Times has this nice reivew of two new wireless email palmtop phones : the Palm Tungsten W and the BlackBerry 6710. Both are over $500, and combine a cell phone with highspeed wireless email/Web access. Both have some strengths and some drawbacks.“http://blogs.onenw.org/kb/archives/000200.html - Cached
