Nostalgic pang of the geek kind
bignoseduglyguy on 2004/04/14:
„This reminded me of my very first PDAs, all of which were from the Psion stable. If you think that Palm were ahead of the game and out on their own in the mid-nineties, then you need to think again - Psion released their first organiser over ten years before the Palm Pilot 1000 and went on to produce some of the best PDA hardware and software bar none. There are more than a few Psion users who attend the face to face UKPUG (UK Palm User Group) meetings and stalwarts such as Steve Litchfield and David MacKay who maintain excellent resources on their websites. Upon arriving home, I dug out my faithful 3a only to find the left hinge was bust and the button bar askew.“

Obels on 2004/03/31:
„Skyscape has announced that a recently released study in the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacists found that Skyscape-powered references were the best drug interaction software available for PDAs.“

Concept: The PDA Calculator Sled
Craig on 2004/03/09:
„The answer is, of course, in the interface. Using even the best designed calculator on a PDA is not all that enjoyable. The screen gives relatively little feedback and the screen offers only so much room for buttons. The advantages are that the screen can change based on the task, but usually, this hinders rapid use.“

The point of PDAs
Scott on 2004/02/09:
„Since I'm running OS X on my primary computer, it stands to reason that I'd be best-served by a handheld that syncs with the Mac, and has as many applications as possible that can sync application-specific data between the Mac and some PDA application. And, since I want to run Life Balance, I'd be best served by a handheld that can actually run it. In every case, the best choice is some flavor of Palm, either a traditional one from PalmOne, a Sony Clie, or a PalmOS-based phone.“

Monday Tidbits
mrohde on 2003/11/24:
„"...don't be mistaken though: with the arrival of your second child, your best PDA days are behind you, I fear (at least, that's what happened to me, my second son being just over one year old now), so it's more or less a gamble for me: either you manage to get your personal server up and running before your second child is born, or I expect PDA24/7 to dwindle and disappear within the next year or so."“

PDA perfection?
savs on 2003/09/25:
„Which brings us to the present, where Handspring have brought out the Trio 600 . It looks good, and it represents the best of both worlds - a mobile phone and a PalmOS pda, and a keyboard.“

Sony PEG-UX50 - Yes I have no willpower
Kakyou on 2003/09/23:
„Everything it was promised to be. Must be the best PDA keyboard I have used to date. The only shadow on this is that the OS does not support the keyboard arrow keys nor the enter key for software navigation. You have to use the scholl tumbler which is not very comfortable.“

Kyocera's new Palm-powered smartphone
Charles on 2003/01/21:
„I’ve had a Kyocera 6035 Palm-powered smartphone for a couple of years. It has its quirks, but overall it’s the best phone and the best PDA I’ve ever had.“
