Reading eBooks

[CoffeeBear.net] TiBR Pro supports reading eBooks off my PDA’s memory stick and even cooler; it allows me to rotate the screen sideways for a much more natural viewing area. They also had a free version, but the description didn’t mention reading from a memory stick and I’ve got enough stuff on my PDA that I really wanted that feature. So I coughed up the measly $9.951 and I’m most pleased with my purchase.
Some slightly related from Technorati and Google.
[mykokology - version 1.0 Mygirl] Drivers don't laugh at me: Another is when I knew all along that there'll be no class and already planned my activities for the entire day like sorted out which tv shows/movies I'll watch when a classmate will out of nowhere suddenly text and say that the "no class is cancelled" therefore classes resume. I've again had one of those moments while I was having snacks while reading an ebook just now and felt suddenly thirsty. I went to the kitchen to get a glass of iced tea. My tastebuds where in an "Iced tea mode".
[Scents of Direction] I finally finished reading Crime and Punishment la...: I finally finished reading Crime and Punishment last night, I have found it hard to stick... to get the laptop out and start reading. I like to read on the train, but if I don't have a table in front of me I can't really do it as the Dell is quite a chunky beast. Time to sort out reading
[Zarinadocken.com] Likha - the blog on writing - Coming soon: e-Book Readers: There is a profound difference between this and the MP3/CD/Cassette players. The musical devices are pretty much the same -- you lug it around, stick the earplugs into the ears, pop in some batteries. That has just gotten better with more and more compact equipments. It's not as though you had to lug a grand piano and play it for music, and now you can listen to it on an iPod.
[Blogs.msdn.com] Evan's Weblog of Tech and Life : Reports of my death are greatly ...: When I first started on the Tablet team, I spent a lot of time looking through previous Pen Computing efforts. I had previously worked on the Compaq Concerto, my dad owned one (against my own recommendation at the time), I’m familiar with the Newton, had an original Palm Pilot, etc. One thing that was clear was it wasn’t clear who the machine was built for. The small form factors were clearly meant for things like calendaring and task information and some very light note taking, but on-going record keeping or detailed notes just didn’t seem to be suited for these devices. The old Windows for Pen Computing suffered because the main thing that users were always faced with was to convert their handwriting to text on the fly which doesn’t fit well into the user’s tasks. This isn’t to say that some power users of either size device couldn’t do more involved tasks or change their work practices to incorporate these devices; just that it wasn’t easy and often not practical.

[Readwriteweb.com] Read/Write Web: eBook Culture Strategy, Part 1: I want to help provide a seamlessintegration of eBooks from the reading device (typically a mobile device like a PDA) tothe server. This isn't a revolutionary thought, Apple are doing exactly this withiPod/iTunes and Tim O'Reilly is doing it witheBooks with his company's Safari service. WhereI fit in is probably not so much in the software/hardware side of things, given I'm not acompany (to paraphrase a Dave Winer line). My focushere will be to provide top-notch written content - how-to's, reviews, analysis.
[Ebizwhiz-publishing.com] How to Write A Blog... And Survive: Opinions are fine, but unless you're the CEO of Microsoft, very few people will want to know what you ate for breakfast. If you started your blog to air your raves and rants about the latest movie you saw, better mention movies in at least every post you write.
