Motorola MPx200 Review
Scott on 2004/01/13:
„I've been in the market for a new phone for most of the last month, and I settled on the Motorola MPx200 early last week. The MPx200 run Microsoft's "Smartphone 2002" software, a pared-down version of their PocketPC/Windows CE operating system. I haven't had a PC running Windows on my...“

Microsoft Smartphone Smarting from Problems
mrohde on 2003/06/12:
„Why? Well, since they can dump oodles of cash into the Smartphone 2002 platform with no hope of profitable results whatsoever, it's pretty predictable -- this is exactly what they're already doing with Pocket PC platform. “

Just CE'en - new OS released
coffeelover on 2003/05/21:
„A new release for end users is overdue, I think. Pocket PC 2002, the latest in the line (along with Smartphone ) is based of course on Windows CE 3.0 and hence has trouble with the latest technologies and standards. The latest release aims to address that by providing Pocket Internet Explorer 6 for Windows CE which will support CSS, XHTML 1.0 and latest encryption standards. It also supports Windows Media 9 codecs and integrates the .NET Compact Framework which should make developing for the platform easier.“

Changes in the eVT 3.0 2002 edition
jobo on 2003/03/17:
„From what I can tell, it looks like the old version, now just bundled with the Pocket PC 2002 SDK and Smartphone 2002 SDK, rather than the old Handheld PC ones. [via The Furrygoat Experience: EVC 2002 Edition ]This is correct, the 2002 edition shipped with updated SDKs and emulators, but the tools themselves were substantially unchanged. There were a couple of tools added to enable code signing for the Smartphone, but I'm not aware of any specific fixes to the core product that were rolled into that release.“
