Palm, Microsoft in dead heat?
Keith Shaw on 2004/04/30:
„Gartner analyst Todd Kort said in a statement that many Palm OS users have delayed PDA purchases until devices come out with the new PalmSource OS, code-named "Cobalt." Microsoft bundling Outlook with every Pocket PC and the company's relationship with enterprise application developers have also led to the growth of the OS, Kort added.“

What Exactly is a PDA Anyway?
mrohde on 2003/12/09:
„I now think that this in fact is the wrong way of looking at the situation when the a deeper question really is: What exactly is a PDA anyway? I mean, PDA has become synonymous with a Palm OS or Pocket PC handheld device, but is that a correct definition? After all, "Personal Digital Assistant" is a...“

A different kind of moblogging

ZDNET biased review of PALM's Tungsten C?
criss on 2003/05/21:
„ZDNET recent reviewed Palm's Tungsten C and made no reference to Palm's study concluding that the Tungsten C excelled in performance tests when compared to the IPAQ (probably the best Pocket PC available). This miss may not show evidence of bias, but the word choice of the reviewer reveals an impulse to conclude that Microsoft's Pocket PCs are better than Palm-based PDAs. I think this shows a likely unconscious bias.“

Words for Today: PDA Wars!
rodd on 2002/10/08:
„Sony's move may be late since Microsoft already has badly eroded Palm's once dominant market share in PDA sales with the Pocket PC line. Microsoft's PDA line may have been dealt a bad blow, however, by losing the two most popular Pocket PCs (Compaq Ipaq and HP Jornada) in the Compaq-HP merger, which dislodged one of the popular PDAs to avoid duplication. Another bright spot for Palm in the PDA WARs is open source .“
