iPAQ Time!

iPAQ Time! crafterm on 2004/05/03:

„It's hard to say which one I like the best. The Blackberry stands out as a separate product from the iPAQ & Palm, acting more as a very cool remote email client rather than a PDA. I like the look & feel of the Palm and it's GUI, but the 802.11b/IE support in the PocketPC. Both have the most basic PDA apps (calendar, email client, tasklist, notepad, word/pdf readers, etc) and can handle SD/SDIO cards with data (mp3, video) or hardware extensions.“

iPAQ and a movie

Tom on 2004/01/05:

„Get 'em while they're hot. Just a thought: HP's PDA that runs a Microsoft Operating System is named iPAQ, which sounds similar to iPod, or iMac. Went and saw Bad Santa today. Not that great...“

I'm Getting Organised!

I'm Getting Organised! Najah Nasseri on 2003/12/08:

„The deliberation for a new PDA began as soon as the deal with Ifwan was struck and I was torn between the HP iPAQ 1940 , a simpler Clie or a Tungsten. Nevermind the last two, as soon as I touched the 1940, I realised that this was it. Its sleek design reminded me so much of my first PDA, the Palm Vx.“

Mobile technology in music stores

Mobile technology in music stores askpang on 2003/12/05:

„The device is a customized Compaq iPaq PDA that comes with a bar code scanner, headphones and WiFi connectivity. A shopper scans the bar code on the CD. This is sent via the in-store 802.11b wireless network to a central database and the relevant information is delivered to the iPaq.“

Treks' Handheld Universal Translator?

cul on 2003/11/10:

„While the computer-generated face of InCA is displayed on an Ipaq PDA, the system uses a WiFi wireless connection to a server, where most of the work takes place.“

HP IPAQ H5555 Woes

ruminator on 2003/10/19:

„I have an HP iPaq H5555 PDA that is the core of my organization, I mean, my personal organization. I keep everything that I need to do and all of my contacts in this little computer. I call it my brain, because nearly everything is stored in it.“

GPRS for your PDA: CF adapter or cellphone?

Venky on 2003/08/10:

„In conclusion the option that works best for you depends on your current service and hardware inventory and also how much you are willing to invest in new hardware and service charges.  I chose option 1 at the onset because my PDA at the time lacked built-in Bluetooth and I had no GSM service.  Sometime later I signed up with T-Mobile and made sure my cellphone had Bluetooth capability ($150 for the SE T68i on eBay, unlocked for $15 at a local store).  I recently switched to the iPAQ 2215 and since then option 3 has been the better solution.“

Toshiba e740 (Reprise)

ruminator on 2003/07/04:

„Today I went out and purchased a new IPAQ H5550 PDA to replace the Toshiba. The e740 crashed, yet again, last week and left me without my important information. This is the third or fourth time the unit has crashed and left me adrift.“

Getting things done - my way

bignoseduglyguy on 2003/05/18:

„As a long time user personal digital assistants (PDAs), I always used to find myself feeling a little cheated when I bought a new model to upgrade or replace the last. Whether it was my original Psion 3a clamshell or the Palm, HandEra, iPaq and Clie that followed, the device never quite lived up to the unwritten but hinted-at promise that goes hand in hand with PDA ownership: I WILL MAGICALLY ORGANISE YOUR LIFE. Now I don't believe I am flattering myself when I say that I am a fairly intelligent and clued-up kind of person but one always hoped that just a small part of this allure would prove to be true - that the latest shiny package of sleek hardware and cutting edge software would automatically bestow me with a greater ability to manage the tasks and projects in my professional and personal life.“

„ALK Technologies are supplying the navigation software for the MINI PDA accessory, which consists of an Ipaq in a driver-viewable cradle connected to integrated GPS, gyroscope, vehicle speed and sound. The lucky owner has access to integrated phone & SMS, online weather, stock updates and emergency services, MP3 player and navigation system powered by ALK's Pocket CoPilot. adbusters.org and toys

beamz on 2003/01/05:

„The latest gadget I want to get is an Ipaq 3955 pda. I have a Palm IIIxe that I don't use much and after taking a look at my scheduling and todo list at work, I've determined that it's getting a little over my head and I need to keep better track of things. So what better way than to use a pda right?“

Words for Today: PDA Wars!

rodd on 2002/10/08:

„Sony's move may be late since Microsoft already has badly eroded Palm's once dominant market share in PDA sales with the Pocket PC line. Microsoft's PDA line may have been dealt a bad blow, however, by losing the two most popular Pocket PCs (Compaq Ipaq and HP Jornada) in the Compaq-HP merger, which dislodged one of the popular PDAs to avoid duplication. Another bright spot for Palm in the PDA WARs is open source .“
