Nokia 3650 Mobility Device
Stuart on 2004/03/06:
„If you want a phone and not a mobility device forget this phone get something smaller. If you want to get something at a reasonable price $149 with one year contract via T-Mobile and experiment with where photography, PDA's and mobility is going without buying a lusted after Sony Erikson P900 or even the more recently announced Nokia's Communicator then it is a bargain.“

Some slightly related:
„There are security issues that arise because of the highly dynamic nature of the security relationships between, say, a mobile node and its mobility anchor points, or between a mobile node and its access routers in a fast handover scenario. The working group is not required to provide solutions to all these issues before publishing its experimental and informational protocols. The working group will document the security requirements and the shortcomings of the solutions in the corresponding protocol specifications.“http://www.ietf.org/proceedings/03nov/141.htm - Cached

„Thenthe next clause would mean that in low-mobility environmentsperiodic advertisements are excessive, which also soundsreasonable if you mean that they aren't needed since likelynothing has changed. But, in context it means that OSPF isboth more likely to succeed and yet burdened with excessivesignaling in a low mobility environment. In fact, I couldeven agree, after more investigation, with both parts, butI was not sure it was what you meant.“http://www.ietf.org/mail-archive/working-groups/manet/current/ msg04520.html - Cached
„People always say that if you forget history you are doomed to repeat it - in this case, it would do us well to look at how some killer aps boosted older technologies - and by looking at those older situations, see if we can find some twinkle or sign that will allow us to know what will be the killer ap that will cause wireless services to take off.“http://www.witiger.com/ecommerce/ m-commercekillerap.htm - Cached
„The company with the most to lose [to original design manufacturers like Sendo and BenQ ] is Nokia, which has become so powerful that operators and rival handset-makers are keen to take it down a peg or two. “For Nokia to stay on top of the game it will have to adjust,” says Brian Modoff, an analyst at Deutsche Bank. Unlike Microsoft and Intel in the PC business, Nokia is not protected by ownership of proprietary standards.“http://www.telepocalypse.net/archives/ 2004_04.html#000364 - Cached

„The last time I gave blood, I moblogged the pictures linked above with my Nokia. The nurses thought that was a little weird, but I explained a bit about blogging to them and then they thought it was cool. I was thinking it would be fun to try getting other bloggers to give blood themselves, then blog about their experiences.“http://www.fredshouse.net/archive/ 2004_01.html#000110 - Cached

„Anti advertising rant: why advertising is bad and how to beat it Before I start, I want to be clear that I'm not saying all advertising is bad. Touting your trade has been a necessary part of human life since language began and probably before. People handing out leaflets with simple information about gigs or products are not doing any harm in my view.“http://www.gilestv.com/blog/generalthoughtsblog/archives/ 000009.html - Cached
„I found LinkDragon , which has a rather cool interface for storing your bookmarks online with them. I just wish it could automatically sync with your local bookmarks. It does have an import utility, and I guess so long as I don't delete/move or do major folder changes, that should be fine for updating.“http://jason.roysdon.net/archives/2001_09.html - Cached
„This week I upgraded my trusty (but now falling apart) Siemens C35i to a Nokia 6600 smartphone in the expectation of achieving fast internet access via GPRS. The 6600 falls somewhere between a regular mobile phone and PDA-like phone (such as the Sony Ericsson P900). It has lots of nice features, but so far I have not been able to persuade Vodafone UK to give me anything other than WAP internet access.“http://jambalaya.bayswaterfarm.com/archives/ cat_computers.html#000035 - Cached

„I actually like my 3390, but Nokia could do more to improve their lines in the US. I previously had a StarTac (7868?) and it was much more solid than my 3390, but actually using the (rather sparse) features were annoying. Even though Nokia far surpasses Motorolla in terms of features, I agree with AdmiralAK that Nokia needs to get on the ball in that area.“http://www.howardforums.com/archive/topic/ 10410-1.html - Cached
„I think it's cuz Nokia doesn't see a need to have everything in one phone...the general public doesn't use all the features in any given phone and to include all useful features (IrDA/BT/SMS/MMS/eMail/Games/GRPS/Camera/MP3/Radio/etc) it would cost them too much to make into a small-sized phone and would probably be so expensive the average user wouldn't even think about forking over the money. Think about it, most people just make and receive calls with a steadily growing number of people doing SMS...so that's just two features a typical user would use on a phone...“http://www.howardforums.com/archive/topic/ 227946-1.html - Cached
„For the moment I am a Nokia customer but I don't feel about them like I feel about my IBM T-40. The T-40 was my choice. The Nokia 3650 was a compromise resulting from poor retailing the mess American companies have made of selling mobility and the lack of imagination in selling it to the population at large.“http://www.henshall.com/blog/archives/ 000762.html - Cached
