„With its sleek shape, silver magnesium casing and “slate” blue color the Versa LitePad is perfect for executives who require a professional and functional device in board meetings, but has the thin and light form factor for field mobile users.  It has an ultra slim profile of 11.7-inches long by.6-inches thick and is a feather-light 2.2 pounds[1] – lighter than any other slate Tablet PC on the market today and designed for extreme mobility.  A primary feature of the Versa LitePad is its 10.4-inch wide-angle display, which allows a user to interact with the product like it was “digital paper,” electronically capturing handwritten notes and radically simplifying daily business collaborations.  Its innovative form factor allows professionals to use the system in places where traditional desktops and notebooks are not practical.“

A BlogBirthday and Newtons

„I've even got the original "Graffiti for Newton" from a startup named "Palm" sotfware along with its user manual (nice palm tree logo and all). And, I've got one of the earlier releases of "Action Names" from a startup company named "Iambic" along with its user manual (there was not much in way of "downloading" software back then, but you could order it off the web). Proably got some "StandAlone" software also.“

„Anonymous blogging, however, seems to me to be more likely to be pursued by people who are not in positions of power in the real world and thus fear that their statements on their blog will bring consequences from people who do hold power in their lives. I suspect that people who are rank-and-file employees and women are more likely to blog anonymously and to pursue "forked blogging" -- that is, having two blogs to separate work and personal content. To me, that's sort of the blogging equivalent of employees responding to an implicit or explicit workplace policy of "keeping desks clean of personal items such as plants and photographs." The exception would be for a person who is running their own business or promoting their own career and consciously creates a work blog to promote their talents and services, instead of merely responding to workplace pressure to "be human on your own time."“

RIP PDA?

„Both devices perform separate tasks for me. I've got an encrypted password database thingy, a usable address calendar, and a bunch of other small utilites on my palm. On my phone, I use it more for communication (AIM, phone, photoblogging) than data manipulation.“ posted on 2004/07/28

Sharp Zaurus: Unix in the Palm Of Your Hand - Secondthoughts - 03/18/2004

„After that, I leave the unit downstairs, upstairs using a notebook I wirelessly sshed into the PDA, it's just another UNIX server, at the bash promopt, I use wget to download a bunch of files from the net, including PERL, APACHE, and MYSQL. MySQL is only a few hundred kilio bytes, I created a few tables and run some SQL queries. Great!2) Installed a VNC server on the PDA, then on my PC I use vncviewer to connect to the PDA, the PDA screen shows up on the PC, and I can remotely operate it via its GUI interface. On the net, I found all sorts of applications ported to Zaurus, even including things like XFfree86 and Courier-mail server.“
