Living The Digital Life - The Apple iLife
Jennifer King on 2004/01/06:
„Apple takes another step toward making the Mac work with a variety of digital entertainment options—what the company refers to as its digital hub strategy—with the release of Apple iLife ($49 direct), a suite containing iTunes and updated versions of iDVD, iMovie, and iPhoto. In addition to new features that help them keep pace with the competition, the upgraded apps also work with one another, letting you easily draw from your photo library when making a movie, for example, or quickly add an iTunes soundtrack to an iPhoto slide show.“

„MacCentral - While some users have reported receiving their copies of Office 2004 for several days now, Microsoft Corp.'s Macintosh Business Unit (MacBU) will officially announce availability of the application suite on Wednesday. Microsoft will eventually offer Office in three configurations and are going ahead with the launch despite the fact their high-end configuration will not be available until Virtual PC 7 is ready lat“http://www.stargeek.com/item/62006.html - Cached
„Ever since Bob Cringley posted his November 27th article titled, "Apple's Tablet Computer Might Finally Be That Link Between Your PC and TV" the Mac web has been abuzz in renewed Mac tablet/PDA speculation. We've heard it all before. Pre-MacWorld Expo Tablet Hysteria is as predictable as Pre-Millennium Armageddon Panic and, historically, just as likely to be accurate.“http://www.stargeek.com/item/62019.html - Cached

„Apple could easily capitalise on this ("The gift of the gab in every box") and it strikes me as a great selling point. How many computers let you send e-mail immediately after unpacking it, plugging it in and turning it on? Additionally, almost every e-mail someone@mac.com acts as an advertisement for Macintosh much as Hotmail's little spam-tag does at the bottom of each message sent via them (and less obtrusively).“http://www.antipixel.com/blog/archives/2002/09/.../ the_great_mac_debate_continues.html - Cached

„The good news is that having Linux desktop apps port straight across to the Mac would be great for Macs, and might drastically extend the life of the Mac platform. They could concentrate on being the BMW of hardware and operating environments and still be compatible with most everything out there. Frankly, that makes a lot more sense to me than Apple's current business model, which seems to be to kill off developer support and convince everyone that all they will ever need is either the shrinking set of very popular apps that still have Mac versions or Apple's own boutique iWhatsit products.“http://www.drunkenbatman.com/drunkenblog-archives/ 000257.html - Cached

„Yeah, the biggest problem with Apple is that since they sell a complete system, they get the whole blame if everything goes wrong. It would be helpful to know whether this was a hardware or software problem, whether it was Mac OS X (modern and solid) or MacOS 9 (elderly and fragile), etc.“http://www.corante.com/bottomline/archives/ 001883.html - Cached
