„PDA sales are flat, and it seems pretty clear that the future for mobile devices or whatever is with wireless. Sooner or later almost every handheld will be able to wirelessly connect to the Internet in some way or another. And regardless, Ed makes the point that Microsoft's Smartphone and Pocket PC operating systems are very similar,... [Gizmodo]...“

Acore AG-600 Bluetooth GPS Receiver Review

„A company called Infinite Range is working on a special Bluetooth add-on for MP3 players called RangeScan that'll let you wirelessly transmit audio to a stereo. The only problem is that right now all it does is take the analog audio signal from the players headphones jack, convert into a digital stream, and then decode them back into an analog signal at the receiver, which makes something like this only slightly more useful than an FM transmitter add-on like the iTrip. There are definitely some practical uses for having wireless networking built-into an MP3 player -- like swapping files with friends or wirelessly synching with a computer -- but Bluetooth is too slow to be off much use for those purposes.“

Palm, Inc. - Analysis

„According to the FTC complaint, Palm misrepresented that Palm PDAs, as sold, contain everything that consumers need to wirelessly access the Internet and their email accounts. In fact, in order to wirelessly access the Internet and email accounts using Palm PDAs, other than the Palm VII model line, consumers must purchase and carry a separate wireless modem or a device to connect the Palm to certain mobile telephones; and, moreover, many mobile telephones currently in use in the U.S. are not compatible with Palm PDAs. The complaint also alleges that in representing that consumers can use Palm PDAs, as sold, to access the Internet and their email accounts wirelessly, Palm failed to disclose or failed to disclose adequately that in order to wirelessly access the Internet and their email accounts, consumers must purchase and carry a separate wireless modem or a device to connect the Palm to certain mobile telephones.“

VLI, Linksys, Wayport, WiFinder and Meetinghouse Data Communications introduced products, services and special offers that capitalize on the integrated WiFi of the Tungsten C handheld for WiFi campus networkers and small office or home office (SOHO) professionals.“
