„Last night I replaced my iPAQ bootloader and protected flash, which had previously contained Pocket PC 2002, with an OSS bootloader and Familiar Linux 0.71. I also installed the Opie 1.0 environment, which provides a GUI and an even more extensive set of applications than Pocket PC 2002. The only thing I have to do now is configure usb-eth on the iPAQ and host box so that the iPAQ can get online and use ipkg, which is an apt-get replacement (the Familiar system is Debian based).“

„This frenzy of activity, including a really stupid 14 hour session in front of the screen with hardly a break, has now brought about a recurrence of my RSI/CTS/Tenosynovitis which I have managed to keep pretty much at bay for 15 month, give or take a twinge.
