2 Weeks 'til PalmSource DevCon 2005!
[Archived in Entry]
[Rohdesign Weblog] I was just reminded today that PalmSource Mobile Summit & DevCon is coming up quickly — just 14 days from today (May 24-26th in San Jose, CA). I'll be attending once again, acting mainly as a member of the Palm OS User Council, but as a regular ol' Palm user too.
Some slightly related:
[Florida Knitters] FL Stitch N Bitch Groups: Boca Raton Knitnighout meets on the 1st & 3rd Monday of every month at 7PM in The Cafe at the Borders Books on the northeast corner of Glades Road at 441. All knitters and wannabes are welcome! For more information, contact Catherine at email address: knitterati@aol.com or join the notification list at: FortLauderdaleBocaRatonKnitters@yahoogroups.com
[Junk Food for Your Brain] One spell of a diary - Bill Simons at his best...: Also, my right eye won't close. Some of my favorite words from last round: "echinate" (covered with stiff bristles); "limitrophe" (the bizarre decline of Jose Lima over the past three seasons); "resile" (to draw back, recoil or retract); "orpiment" (an orange to yellow material); "verticil" (a circle of similar body parts); "nephelognosy" (scientific observation of clouds); "jacamar" (brightly colored South American bird); "epiphora" (a watering of the eyes due to excessive secretions); "chela" (a pincerlike organ). Are you resiling at some of those words?
[DadTalk] Where Do the Rich Like to Live and Play?: Phoenix is beautiful, but if you still want a small town feel then Tucson is the place for you. It's about 10 degrees cooler (which is a big deal in the summer) than Phoenix and actually cools down at night (which is again a big deal in the summer). I've also noted a large Jewish community in the center of town, which includes a Montesorri school, a Hebrew Academy and a Jewish Community Center. Keep it in mind if your wife decides to move!
[On Deck Baseball Prospects] Prospect News for May 9th: He's also tied for 1st in runs scored (29) and walks (24), tied for 2nd in extra-base hits (17), and tied for 3rd in RBIs (26). The 24-year-old switch-hitter is trying to force his way to San Francisco or at least let other teams know he has major league talent. After flirting with a perfect game two weeks ago, RHP Matt Cain has been nowhere near perfect. Cain would labor for the second start in a row yesterday, spitting up 6 runs on 3 hits and 7 walks in 4 innings.
[On Deck Baseball Prospects] Prospect News for May 7th: Floyd has whiffed 32 batters in 31.2 innings and his ERA is 3.41. RHP Joe Bateman struck out 2 batters in 2 hitless, scoreless innings of relief to snatch the win for San Jose. Bateman has been dominant this season. The 25-year-old righty has a 0.81 ERA after 11 games and he's yielded just 12 hits and 3 walks in 22.1 innings, recording 25 Ks.
